Yolanda Cumbess was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Jesse H. Jones Senor High School. As a youth, Yolanda excelled academically and interned at the Johnson Space Center. Yolanda is also a talented athlete and was a member of the Texas Tech University Women’s Volleyball Team. Yolanda earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech, and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. Yolanda is now a licensed attorney, a member of the State Bar of Georgia and The District of Columbia Bar. Yolanda now works as a Primary Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia.
Yolanda obtained a ministry license in 2017 through the Higher Ground Always Abounding Assembly, Inc. Yolanda is an author, and speaker, and serves at her church in various leadership roles, including the choir, as a minister, and other outreach activities. As an over-comer, Yolanda is passionate about motivating others and ministering to the needs of individuals who have been disenfranchised, marginalized, and abused.
